In this version we focused our work on the reduction of the memory consumption to make SOBI2 more flexible. But there are also many other highlights. In the new version you will find a lot of new features, like * Basic template for the add/edit entry form - You can now customize your add/edit entry form. See example of use here: http://mambo.sigsiu.net/directory/add-new.html * Possibility to edit the add/edit entry form template within the back-end. * Template parser with syntax error check - for easy catching of syntax errors in the template files. * Status filter for entries in Entry Manager - it will help you to administrate your directory if you have a lot of entries. * Possibility to renew expired entries - you can now earn money much more easier if the entry has been expired. * Possibility to edit config.ini in back-end (registry editor) - the config.ini file contains many advanced settings and options. You can now edit these options comfortable in the SOBI2 admin panel. * "Quick edit/edit in place" function (experimental) - This function allows to edit custom field data quickly and comfortable directly in the details view. ... and much more other new features. | 2007-12-02 | Posted By: Radek Suski SOBI2 RC 2.8.3 has been released This new version has some improvements of the Alpha Index, the Add Entry Form validation and several new configuration keys to adjust SOBI2 to fit your needs. So you are now able to set links as nofollow, customize the redirect addresses, adjust the date added format and the possibility to switch off Mootools usage if these scripts are already used by the CMS template. The Yahoo style layout for subcategories is also implemented now. In the administration panel you are now able to remove the plugin database tables. The administration menu has changed to group the style menus together. Also there are some minor improvements and bug fixes. Please see the complete Changelog list for more information. The location of the SOBI2 templates files has changed. For the first anniversary of SOBI2 we release the new version RC 2.8.0 of our component. Together with our community we have worked hard to make SOBI2 more flexible and more useful as a universal directory component and not only as a business directory. SOBI2 has a wide range of options and will suit for many situations. In the new version you will find a lot of new features, like * Select list / select box field type * Check box group field type - multiple choice * Calendar field type * Field attribute "administrative" - field editable only for administrator * Alphabetical listings * Listings by selected tags (metakeys) * Recently updated listings * Recently added listings * Most popular listings and categories * Most popular listings only * user listings * .... ... and much more other new features. The new version has been rebuilt totally to be fully compatible with Mambo 4.6.2+, Joomla! 1.0.12+ and Joomla! 1.5 RC2+ and to be much more secure. For example, almost all global declarations and variables in file inclusions has been removed to prevent any possibility to override some variables on lesser safe servers. Because of the security changes in SOBI2 it was necessary to redesign the plugins also. We publish the most of our plugins in a new version only for RC2.8.0.
